This is a freestyle. A tired freestyle. There are days when you are as energized as a pup. Other days, you feel like you have been walking through the Sub-Saharan desert without water. Sometimes you have the faith of a Biblical godfather. Other days, you’re just an average doubting Thomas.
You ask why, it is the paradox of life. But to keep bettering your craft, you have to push through the bad days with the same spirit you put into the good days.
As I said, this is a freestyle. This style is as free as a liberated 21st century millennial. It’s like a caged bird that’s been left free – free from the preying eyes of silent judging readers. However, I might just post it. Even though I haven’t given a lot of thought into it.
Tonight, let us make a toast. A toast to letting our inhibitions down, to setting the bar down, to putting perfection away.
Perfection can be a bad master, it demands nothing but the best, and for the rest to sit on the shelf. Perfection is the enemy of just do it.
200 words of imperfection.
Tonight, I’d like to challenge you, in whatever craft you’re into. Take time to hone it, own it. Do it for your own self-improvement. Not for validation!
